Personality :
Who is that friggin' weird guy, with a name which doesn't even exist ? Someone very special, I can tell you. Being raised by a pokémon for a part of your life is changing everything after all. So yeah, because of that, Iovian is very close from the nature. It is the kind of guy who, instead of sleeping in a bed like everyone, will be sleeping on the ground in the forest. He feeds himself by hunting some pokemons, and while it is disgusting for some people, it is pretty normal for him. Don't worry, he knows how to eat with a fork. But you know, if there is no need to do that, do you really except him to follow those human rules ? Aw come on, he sees the things in their useful side, why bother with thoughts like « your hands are going to be dirty » or « it's not something to do in front of people ! » ? No seriously, it's not to be cool or anything like that, but that's just a different way to see things.
Being sociable is not one of his priorities. We can say that in some way he doesn't care. Oh wait, he will not kick you out by saying « DUH I AM SO DARK AND LONELY DUN TALK TO ME YOU PEASANT I AM TOO DIFFERENT FROM YOU YO' ». No I mean, this is more someone who is not going to come to you because he has no interest on coming. After all, he didn't join the Team Magma to have friends, he is here because he wants something. However, you can come and talk to him, this is not a problem, he will answer you.
In the end, Iovian is quite a nice guy. He will never (or almost never) refuse a conversation, and even though there will be this thing, like a glass between you and him because you can feel this is someone who is mostly working by interest, he will just smile at you while talking.
Being calm is not something he likes. He is always jumping, running or anything. He is unable to stay sit without doing nothing for 4 hours for example. It is a part of his pokemon's influence, with the fact that he is ready to attack whenever he feels he is threatened.
Something very interesting to know is how he considers the pokemons and the humans. Both are equals, they are a part of nature, except that for him, the Legendaries ARE the natures. The normal pokemons and the humans are for him the babies of this nature. And so by extension his brothers and sisters. This way of thinking inculcate to him some sort of respect, which allows him to consider every single life as important, and so that a life should never be neglected.
History :
A little baby was sleeping, wrapped in thin white sheets, not like a burrito but almost. He was lying on the ground, in the middle of nowhere in Hoenn. It was at night, and everything was so calm, until a big green creature - it looked like a giant gherkin with runic symbols- came out from the sky and decided to land on the ground, to finally stare at the little baby sleeping. 2 little blue eyes, as blue as the seas opened slowly and stared the yellow eyes in front of him. Then he looked up at the sky and tried to catch with his tiny hand the shiny lights, so close and far away at the same time. We don't know if that was this innocence that pushed the big green creature to do that, but the fact is that it opened its mouth to grab the little baby and flew away, taking him to his big den, which seemed to be its house.
Surprisingly, the green creature, mostly known by the humans as Rayquaza, didn't ate the baby, and took care of him, teaching him the different things he has to know about the world, like how to hunt, how to learn things by himself by observing... The communication, was made of looks and sounds, and the first sounds the baby produced gave him the name of « Iovian ».
They had a relation of Father and son, both without really paying attention to it. For them, they had to live together : there was like a special bond which was making them staying together. However, during a night, after 10 years of common life, the father decided to leave his son, without even telling him. He considered that he has no role to play anymore, that the child he rescued grew up and that he could live by himself.
The little Iovian woke up without seeing his dad anywhere. He didn't know why he left, but he left. It is what he wants after all, there is no necessity to go after him. Then, the blond boy lived his life without asking any questions. He hadn't been raised like that. Survive was all that matters.
However, there was this day, where Iovian ended up in a city. It wasn't the first time he visited one, but it was the first time he noticed a family, cheering, laughing, chatting … in fact, acting like him with his father. Hey it's true, where is daddy ? He looked at everywhere, and everywhere, there were these people acting like him with is father. Where is daddy ? Daddy where are you ?
Here comes the questions, and here comes the birth of Iovan from the team Magma. From this moment, he never stopped to wonder why his daddy left, and most important where was he ? This wish to find his father, led him to do several things, in order to find him. He learned the human language by observing and listening to them, as for reading and writing that he learned in majority by himself, but also with some help from people. He, however, always refused to stay in a new family, prefering to live by himself on the nature, with pokemons and far from technology.
Then, he tried to remember some adventures his father had on the past (because every night before going to sleep, he was talking about his past, his long long life) and only kept one in memory : he said he once stopped a conflict between two titans, named Groudon and Kyogre by humans. This conflict was the key.
Iovian started to read even more books about the subject. He travelled a lot, frequently searching for a clue even in some improbable places like seas, forest, caves, even the famous tower where his father was supposed to be according to the legends … he never found him, and ended up in a bar, at 24 years old, where he spoke to a magma grunt, who finally told him what was their purpose, their rivalry with Team Aqua, awakening Groudon, everything. Iovan ended up thinking that it would maybe not be a bad idea, to join that team. Hey after all, he could awaken oncle Groudon and oncle Kyogre and make them fight again ? Like that, maybe daddy will come back and stop them. And then, Iovan would ask him why he left, why everyone still has their family, while he doesn't have one ?
Oh he knows that if daddy doesn't come, then the situation will be pretty bad. But this is the only way. So don't pity this guy who, despite being an adult today, is still a child, who never understood and refuses to do so, that being a pokemon is still different from being an human. And that one day, the little bird has to accept he can fly on his own, and can't depend eternally from his family.
Extras :
- He considers that « letting the nature speak » is the best solution. He is not against the technology, he respects that people can use it ( He is not a super eco-terroriste either.), but you will never see him use a pokegear for example, or when he doesn't has the choice. He will walk to the person he needs to tell something instead, or send a letter or anything else by giving it to a flying type pokemon.
- Considering the Legendaries as nature itself, he kind of agrees with Team Magma's ideals to extend the lands. After all, that's the nature, and we need to let the nature extend when it « desires » to extend itself, if you know what I mean. It's the same for the land and for the sea. Wait, what about the pokemons living in these places ? And the humans ? Oh come on dude : Rules of nature.
- He may have had 15 years to learn how to speak human language, but it is still not perfect.
- The magma Logo is on his shirt, on his back.
- He still has the ability to talk with pokemons, which is very useful, for him, but also for the team.
- He never left Hoenn even with his father.

Description : Nerack was just an egg when Iovian found him. It seemed about to hatch at any moment. He took the egg with him and just a day after, a baby Bagoon came out of it. It wasn't really a long time ago, about what, 4 months before Iovian joins the team Magma ? So yeah Nerack(named after the first sounds he pronunced like Iovian) is still a baby. In fact he doesn't have any interesting backstory. He is pretty calm, cheerful, very nice, and even though he already knows how to fight very well, that is not what is interesting about him. Because Iovan acts like a father with Nerack, like Rayquaza did for him. So maybe one day, thanks to this little baby Bagoon, he will find the answers a missing father took with him, 15 years ago.
